Yes, you read that right! We are catching both Trophy Rainbow Trout and Landlocked King Salmon in Shasta Lake. Both of these species of fish are prevalent in Lake Shasta and this time a year there is very little fishing pressure. If you don’t mind bundling up a little you can enjoy an uncrowded lake and excellent fishing opportunities.

Trolling tends to be the technique of choice for both fishermen and fish. One moment you are holding your rod enjoying one of the most spectacular views in Northern California and the next moment your rod is bent almost in half with a fish that is headed hell bent for the northern end of the lake. Playing these fish is a thrill to say the least, but don’t expect to get all of them to the boat as they are constantly trying to shake the hook anyway they can. But that is the excitement of fishing, isn’t it?

Today (Monday February 17th) was another spectacular day on Shasta Lake chasing trophy trout landlock kings on the biggest body of water in the state of California. The 2020 fishing season is starting off to be an exceptional year for those who book with us we are going to be able to provide 2 boats for large parties or up to 6 people in a single boat.

Shasta Lake provides our clients with The Choice of chasing multiple species. Primetime dates are from March to June before we switch over to Whiskeytown Lake and chase some of the biggest kokanee in the state of California. The fishing has continued to be exceptional even after the recent fires and the 2020 season should be no different.

Please consider booking your trips sooner than later on our website to reserve the dates that work best for you.

Tight Lines ….. Anthony
